چکیده

Suppose that M is a smooth manifold and Tt : M → M is a flow, i.e. a one-parameter group of diffeomorphisms. One way of studying this flow is by looking at a cross-section—that is to say, a codimension 1 submanifold N ⊂ M that is transverse to the direction of the flow. The transversality condition implies that each orbit intersects N in a discrete set. In other words, for each point x of M , the set of visit times, O(x) = {t ∈ R|Tt(x) ∈ N} is discrete. The codimension 1 condition (together with the transversality condition) implies that the set of points whose orbit intersects N contains an open set. Since this set is clearly invariant under the flow, mild irreducibility conditions, such as topological transitivity, imply that almost every orbit (in the sense of Baire category) intersects N . Let us further assume that there is a smooth volume form on M of total measure 1 that is preserved by Tt, and that Tt is ergodic with respect to this measure. In this case, one sees that the negative orbit of N , i.e. the set

Maximum Entropy Theory by Using the Meandering Morphological Investigation

Based on the principle of maximum entropy the primary morphologic equation is derived, and then the equations for hydraulic geometry of longitudinal profile and crosssection are established. For V-shaped cross-sections the relevant morphologic equations which are derived are compared with the existing empirical and semi-empirical formulae. They show good agreement with the prototypes.

Clamped-Free Non Homogeneous Magneto Electro Elastic Plate of Polygonal Cross-Sections with Hydrostatic Stress and Gravity

In this article, the influence of hydrostatic stress and gravity on a clamped- free non homogeneous magneto electro elastic plate of polygonal cross sections is studied using linear theory of elasticity. The equations of motion based on two-dimensional theory of elasticity are applied under the plane strain assumption of prestressed and gravitated magneto electro elastic plate of polygonal cros...

Relation of Electron Scattering Cross-Sections to Drift Measurements in Noble Gases

We investigate the classic "inverse problem" of extracting collision and scattering cross sections from measurements of electron swarm behavior. A Monte Carlo technique for simulating electron motion through a gas of isotropic scatterers is presented, providing a simplified version of Biagi's MAGBOLTZ algorithm. Using this Monte Carlo software, we examine the thermalization of electron swarms, ...

Simplified Approach for Torsional Analysis of Non-homogenous Tubes with Non-circular Cross-sections

In this paper a method is presented for torsional analysis of non-homogeneous tubes with arbitrarily shaped cross-sections. A previously presented method based on Bredt’s theory is extended to achieve formulas for torsional analysis. Shear modulus varies through the thickness according to a power law distribution. To validate the accuracy of the presented formulas for angle of twist and shear s...

An Entropic Model for the Assessment of Streamwise Velocity Dip in Wide Open Channels

The three-dimensional structure of river flow and the presence of secondary currents, mainly near walls, often cause the maximum cross-sectional velocity to occur below the free surface, which is known as the “dip” phenomenon. The present study proposes a theoretical model derived from the entropy theory to predict the velocity dip position along with the corresponding velocity value. Field dat...

In the present study, free vibration behaviors of of carbon nanotube (CNT) and boron nitride nanotube (BNNT) have been investigated via Eringen’s nonlocal continuum theory. Size effect has been considered via nonlocal continuum theory. Nanotubes have become popular in the world of science thanks to their characteristic properties. In this study, free vibrations of Boron Nitride Nanotube (BNNT) ...
